Luis Diaz 1+ shots on target

A third of Diaz’s shots have been on target at this Copa America. He’s been accurate from open play once in each of his last two appearances.

The Liverpool forward has been operating on the left side of Colombia’s three-man offense, which means he will be attacking the side of Uruguay’s defense that’s missing key defenders Ronald Araujo and Nahitan Nandez.

The 27-year-old could prey on the makeshift backline and find himself in excellent shooting positions. A $10 bet on this price pays a $7.41 profit.

James Rodriguez to assists or score

James Rodríguez has provided five assists at this tournament; no player has had six in a single edition of Copa America since 2011. The former Real Madrid forward also scored in their quarterfinal win over Panama.

Rodriguez recorded six shots during the competition, half of which were on target. No player at this Copa America has created more chances than him (16), and his opportunities to either find the back of the net or tee up a teammate are further enhanced by the decimated Uruguayan defense.

Manuel Ugarte to be booked

Uruguay has only had three yellow cards this tournament, plus the red card shown to Nahitan Nandez in the quarterfinal. With tensions high between two equally matched teams, things could become nasty in Charlotte on Wednesday.

Uruguay’s depleted defense could cause them problems against a Colombian offense that has pace and is confident in front of goal. Manuel Ugarte is a defensive midfielder that is not afraid of making a challenge and may take one for the team if it helps thwart an attack.

Ugarte has been booked once at this Copa America and was shown seven yellow cards for PSG in Ligue 1 and the Champions League last season. In the 2022-23 season he was booked 17 times for sporting in their domestic league and European competitions. With the final at stake, he’s a tough tackler who will do whatever it takes to get the win.
