Brazil vs. Spain Odds, Picks & Predictions: Olympic Women's Soccer, Aug. 6
Last Updated: August 5, 2024 1:44 PM EDT • 2 min 42 sec read.
Spain have lived up to the billing as the world's top-ranked team, winning all four games en route to their semifinal clash against Brazil.
The Brazilians upset France in the quarterfinals after winning just one group stage contest and look to play the role of spoiler again in Tuesday's semifinal, which kicks off at 3 p.m. ET from Stade de Marseille in Marseille.
Unless Brazil win their appeal, they will be without six-time world player Marta, who received a red card against Spain in the final group stage encounter. That red card was costly against the Spaniards, who took control in the second half, scoring two versus a shorthanded Brazilian side.
Despite being the world's best team, Spain have never made an Olympic final. Brazil made the final at the 2004 Athens Games and Beijing 2008 but lost to the Americans both times.
Spain are the massive favorites across our best sports betting sites, and our Brazil vs. Spain odds, picks, and predictions look at the outcome and most likely goal scorer.

Brazil vs. Spain score prediction
Spain 1 vs. Brazil 0
While Spain beat Brazil 2-0 in the group stage, the teams entered the halftime interval deadlocked a 0-0. Spain took control in the second half, primarily due to the numerical advantage after Marta was sent off for an undisciplined tackle on Olga Carmona.
Without Marta, Brazil lacks the same ruthless edge in front of goal. However, the disparity between the two sides isn't as large as many think. Brazil will play a deep defensive line, making Spain deserve every square inch of space they muster.
I expect a dogged and resilient defensive performance from the Brazilians. However, Spain are the better side, both in form and in terms of individual matchups, and they should find the all-important breakthrough, facilitating their first Olympic final. A $10 winning wager will yield a $50 profit.

Brazil vs. Spain anytime goal scorer prediction
Alèxia Putellas, Spain
Putellas has bagged two goals in four games thus far. Her two goals came against Nigeria and Brazil in the group stage, and she has 22 goals in 66 starts with La Roja. This pick is more based on confidence and current form than a historical nose for goal.
The 2024 Olympics are, unequivocally, her most prolific major tournament, and I'm counting on the 30-year-old to use her experience and ability to read the game to score the decisive goal.
The +187 odds will yield a profit of $18.70 on a $10 bet if Putellas finds the back of the net before the full-time whistle.
Odds: +187 via Sportsbook | Implied probability: 34.84%
Brazil vs. Spain best bet
Spain to win & Brazil not to score
Brazil have scored three goals in four games. The only match they failed to score was against Spain in the group stage.
While their cause wasn't helped by playing a woman down in the second half, I don't think they have enough of an offensive threat - especially without Marta - to break through against a Spanish side that allowed one goal in three group games.
Spain conceded two against Colombia in the quarterfinals, but that was an outlier. Spain play a solid defensive team game and will be even more focused on shoring things up at the back after conceding two against the Colombians.
You'll earn a $13.70 profit on a $10 wager if Spain wins in 90 minutes and doesn't concede.
Odds: +137 via Sportsbook | Implied probability: 42.19%
