What song will Beyonce perform first?

How will Beyonce start her show at halftime of the Ravens vs. Texans game on Christmas Day? The options on the ‘Beyonce First Song’ prop board at FanDuel Canada include multiple tracks from her recent Cowboy Carter album, many of her biggest hits, and a Christmas pop classic for good measure.

For the Cowboy Carter tracks, obviously Texas Hold’em (+195) is there as an option – it was the first single from the album and a smash hit, and it’s been including Record of the Year and Song of the Year. It would be a huge surprise if Texas Hold’em wasn’t on Beyonce’s setlist for the performance.

Other songs from Cowboy Carter on the board include Levii’s Jeans (+340), Bodyguard (+850), 16 Carriages (+900), II Most Wanted (+900), Daughter (+1000), and Jolene (+1100), which is a cover version / reimagining of Dolly Parton’s 1973 hit. From elsewhere in Beyonce’s earlier discography there’s Single Ladies (+4400), Crazy in Love (+4500), Formation (+4500), and Run the World (+4800), with Mariah Carey’s holiday classic All I Want for Christmas (+9500) also included as part of the wagering options.

Who will join Beyonce on stage during her show?

Will we get a special guest on stage with Beyonce during her halftime show?

The top options on this prop wager focus on her Cowboy Carter collaborators, including Parton (-196) and other legends Linda Martell (+230) and Willie Nelson (+340). Shaboozey (-113) is featured on the Cowboy Carter tracks Spaghettii and Sweet Honey Buckiin, Post Malone (+280) lends vocals to Levii’s Jeans, and Miley Cyrus (-128) , with that collaboration turning into a top-10 hit for the duo.

Others listed include more Cowboy Carter collaborators in each of Brittney Spencer (-113), Reyna Roberts (-146), Tanner Adell (-146), and Tiera Kennedy (-146), along with husband Jay-Z (+750), former Destiny’s Child bandmates Kelly Rowland (+870) and Michelle Williams (+1700), and sister Solange (+1700).

And even though the Chiefs will have played up in Pittsburgh, Taylor Swift is at +4000 here.

How many songs will Beyonce perform in total?

Finally, how many songs will Beyonce end up performing during her halftime show on Christmas Day?

The total has been set at FanDuel Canada at 8.5, with the OVER and the UNDER both at -113 odds. When Beyonce performed at the Super Bowl XLVII halftime show in February 2013 she included nine songs in the show – Run the World, Love on Top, Crazy in Love, End of Time, Baby Boy, Bootylicious, Independent Women Part I, Single Ladies, and Halo.

Last year’s Super Bowl featuring Usher included at least parts of 11 songs, while the Rihanna performance from the previous year had her touch on 14 of her past hits.

Beyonce NFL Christmas Halftime best bets

It’s hard to imagine Texas Hold’em not being the first song played at Beyonce’s Christmas Day halftime show – it was a huge hit, it’s a country song, and the performance of course is in Texas. Bank on it being the opening number, even if the payout on the prop wager is lower because it’s listed as the favorite.

For the special guest prop, we’re not sure the 78-year-old Parton would want to play an NFL show so Cyrus might be the most sensible choice here as she could join Beyonce in a performance of II Most Wanted and match her energy on stage if her stay was extended past one song.

As for the number of songs performed by Beyonce, the Under 8.5 songs seems like the better wager despite the larger setlists from the last two Super Bowl halftime shows. We’re looking for Beyonce to perform Cowboy Carter tracks and past hits in full, in a tighter set than you’d find at a Super Bowl game.

My Picks

First Song: Texas Hold 'Em (+195)

Guest Performer: Miley Cyrus (-128)

Total Number of Songs: Under 8.5 (-113)
