The New York Rangers continue their west coast road trip as they visit Crypto.com Arena in an evenly matched contest with the Los Angeles Kings. Here are our NHL picks for Tuesday night’s game between the Rangers and Kings.

The Rangers will play in the first half of a back-to-back on Tuesday, in what has historically been a low-scoring matchup between these teams.

The Kings have been experiencing quite an offensive skid lately, and while the Rangers haven’t exactly been lighting it up either, this is likely to come down to a goaltending duel.

Here are my NHL picks and predictions for Tuesday night’s game between the Rangers and Kings (odds via FanDuel SportsbookBetMGM, and DraftKings Sportsbook; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5 scale).

Rangers vs. Kings Picks

  • Moneyline: Kings (-115 via BetMGM) ★★
  • Over/Under: Under 6 (-115 via FanDuel) ★★★
  • Prop: Mika Zibanejad anytime scorer (+125 via DraftKings) ★★

Rangers vs. Kings ML Pick

Kings (-115) ★★

The Kings have been on a hot streak of late against Eastern conference teams. They’ve won four straight against teams from the East and while their offense has been in a lull, they’ve still managed to win seven of their last 12 games overall. With Rangers goaltender Igor Shesterkin expected to be in the net (unless head coach Gerard Gallant decides to give Jaroslav Halak the start due to the back-to-back situation), the Kings' ability to win low-scoring games is huge.

The Rangers, like the Kings, are 5-3-2 across their last 10 games, however, they haven’t fared well against teams with winning records this season. They’re 2-8 in their last 10 games against teams with records over .500. They also have struggled against the Kings in particular in recent years, and are 0-4 in Los Angeles.

Certainly, it’s a close call as the odds reflect, but I’m taking the Kings even with their offensive woes.

Rangers vs. Kings O/U Pick

Over 6.5 (-115) ★★★★

Reigning Vezina Trophy winner Shesterkin speaks for himself, but Kings projected starter Jonathan Quick has also looked great between the pipes this season. Though the numbers don’t necessarily reflect it, part of the reason of course is a struggling offense. Quick has the ability to win games for his team when he’s in the zone, and we’ve seen flashes of his elite younger days quite a few times already this season.

That said, both of these teams have been struggling to put the puck in the back of the net of late. The Rangers rank 21st in goals scored per game and the Kings are 17th. Additionally, these two teams hit the Under in each of their last four meetings.

Rangers vs. Kings Prop Pick

Zibanejad anytime scorer (+125) ★★★

Across his last five games, Rangers center Mika Zibanejad has scored three goals. He has 21 points on the season with 10 goals and 11 assists and is one of the forwards leading this offense that has been slow to start.

In a low-scoring matchup, Zibanejad has the skill to get one past Quick.
