The Calgary Flames aren't far removed from losing eight straight in enemy barns. Since that disastrous spell spanning a month, Ryan Huska's squad is 3-1-0 on the road. 

They enter Monday's contest against the lowly Chicago Blackhawks at the United Center (7:30 p.m. ET, Amazon Prime) as road favorites, a circumstance as rare as Connor Bedard growing chin stubble.

Monday's contest in Chicago represents an idyll letdown spot for the Flames, who enter the game on the back of an impressive home win over a Los Angeles Kings team among the Stanley Cup odds contenders. The Flames have flown across the continent and could be susceptible to being picked off before they find their road legs. 

The Flames are the favorites despite their ninth-worst road points percentage (.444), another reason I can't back them. The Blackhawks provide decent value at +115. ;

However, Bedard posting at least one helper is the better play.

While the odds are almost identical, Bedard's probability of hitting the Over should be higher. Prior to Saturday's game against the Edmonton Oilers, he had an assist in five straight and six of the previous seven. 

For obvious reasons, his sample size against the Flames is as small as his physical stature. However, he's enjoyed success against Calgary, registering three helpers in three games, including two in the last head-to-head a few weeks ago.

Coronato notched a goal and an assist and fired five shots at David Rittich on Saturday. I'm expecting him to take that momentum into Monday's encounter. Coronato has hit the Over in three of the last six, averaging 3.5 shots per contest in that stretch. 

He's getting time on the first power-play unit and will be up against a Blackhawks team allowing the second-most shots per game at home since Nov. 30 (31.8). An uptick in shot production has spearheaded the Flames' improvement in enemy rinks. They have the fifth-most shots on the road since Dec. 9 (31.3).  

And finally, Coronato has enjoyed two of his most productive shooting outings this season against Chicago, averaging 4.5. A winning $10 bet will profit $8.33.
