The Detroit Lions are home favorites tonight against the Seattle Seahawks in the second game of tonight's doubleheader by the latest Monday Night Football odds.

  • The last three meetings between the Seahawks and Lions have had 68 or more points
  • The Seahawks are one of three 3-0 teams that is an underdog by the NFL Week 4 odds
  • The Seahawks have the second-best defensive DVOA entering Week 4

In addition to our Seahawks vs. Lions prop bets, here is our best Seahawks vs. Lions prediction for tonight's matchup, which kicks off from Ford Field at 8:15 p.m. ET on ABC.

Seahawks vs. Lions odds movement: Monday Night Football

After opening as 4.5-point favorites, the Lions saw their odds dip to -3.5 in the days leading up to tonight's contest.

Then came a rash of injuries for the Seahawks, which preempted a move to as short as -5 for the home favorites. The line has since settled in between with our best sportsbooks offering Seattle between +4 and +4.5 in the hours before kickoff.

That has accompanied a steady drop for the betting total, which reached as high as 48.5 but has dropped to as low as 46.5 at FanDuel shortly before tonight's game.

Best Seahawks vs. Lions picks

NFL picks based on the odds from our best NFL betting sites. Odds subject to change.

  • Against the spread pick: Seahawks +3.5 () vs. Lions ⭐⭐⭐
  • Player prop: Jaxon Smith-Njigba Over 47.5 receiving yards (-114 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Seahawks vs. Lions against the spread prediction: Monday Night Football

Seahawks to cover the spread: +3.5 (-105) ⭐⭐⭐

Best odds: -105 via FanDuel | Implied probability: 51.22%

Detroit’s depth will be tested

The Lions are dealing with several key injuries.

Defensive starters Marcus Davenport (triceps) and linebacker Derrick Barnes (knee) are expected to miss significant time. In addition, center Frank Ragnow, the anchor of the offensive line, has been ruled out with a partially torn pectoral muscle.

Few outside of Aidan Hutchinson have stepped up

Lions defensive end Aidan Hutchinson will earn plenty of Defensive Player of the Year votes if he keeps up his current pace. Hutchinson has recorded 6.5 sacks and 16 pressures and has a 33% Pass Rush Win Rate.

However, the rest of the front seven have not pitched in, combining for 1.5 sacks, 18 pressures, and a 10% Pass Rush Win Rate.

Geno Smith thrives in the underdog role

From an ATS perspective, Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith has been more successful as an underdog. Smith is 22-17-2 ATS as an underdog but is five games under .500 (11-16-2 ATS) as a favorite.

While Lions quarterback Jared Goff has won 12 of 15 home night games, he has also covered the spread in just four of 11 meetings with Seattle dating back to his time with the Rams. That 36.4% cover percentage makes the Seahawks Goff’s least profitable team to face ATS.

All our best NFL betting sites are in unison with the 3.5-point spread, but FanDuel is the only one charging less than the standard -110 juice to back the underdogs.

By making our $10 wager there, we face a potential profit of $9.52 compared to the $9.09 return with a wager at -110 odds.

Seahawks vs. Lions player prop

Our NEW NFL player prop odds tool can help you find the best odds on any market across legal sportsbooks in your area!

Jaxon Smith-Njigba Over 47.5 receiving yards (-114) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Jaxon Smith-Njigba faces a Lions defense that has allowed the second-most fantasy points per game to wide receivers. Furthermore, Detroit has allowed the most targets, receptions, and receiving yards to the position.

I expect DK Metcalf’s player props to be the most wagered upon in this matchup, especially since he has warranted 44% of the team’s air yards.

However, Smith-Njigba has the same amount of catches as Metcalf (17) on just three fewer targets, while Smith’s 308 passing yards per game over the last two weeks are the second-most in the NFL.

Thus, Seahawks wide receivers should end with plenty of receiving yards, and these statistics do not warrant a play on Metcalf, whose O/U on receiving yards is significantly higher (64.5).

Smith-Njigba’s total is as high as 49.5 at Caesars and juiced to -120 to the Over. Thus, the best number and price is at FanDuel, where a winning $10 wager would net $8.77 in profits.

Our Brenden Schaeffer is targeting two Lions player props as part of his Seahawks vs. Lions MNF parlay.
