Russell Wilson will look to lead his Pittsburgh Steelers to their sixth win of the season on Monday Night Football, but to do so he'll have to overcome a solid New York Giants pass defense.

The latest Monday Night Football odds suggest that the Steelers should be in line to pick up that win in a home contest at Acrisure Stadium. Kickoff is set for 8:15 p.m. ET (ABC/ESPN). However, that doesn't mean that the best Russell Wilson MNF player prop bets are Overs, as he may struggle.

In his Steelers’ debut last week, Wilson threw for 264 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions against the New York Jets. Statistically, the Jets have a better pass defense than the Giants, but can Wilson really have two great performances in a row against top 10 pass defenses? Russell Wilson Over 1.5 passing touchdowns (+165) ⭐⭐

The price for the Under is -210 or worse at all of our best sports betting apps, implying a 67.74% chance or greater that Wilson doesn’t hit this number. That’s simply too expensive after what Wilson did last week against the Jets.

The Giants are giving up just 1.1 passing touchdowns per game. That’s tied for ninth-best in the league. They’ve allowed just two passing touchdowns in the last three weeks. But heading into last week, the Jets’ numbers were even better, and Wilson threw two touchdowns against them.

Still, the odds suggest that Wilson will throw fewer than two touchdown passes in this game, which is why this is only a two-star play. That said, Wilson did throw at least two touchdown passes in eight of his 15 games last season.

Russell Wilson Under 201.5 passing yards (-110) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Last year, when Wilson managed to throw 26 touchdown passes in 15 games, his yardage wasn’t there. He finished the year with just 3,070 passing yards, an average of 204.7 per game. While he went for 264 yards last week, there are multiple reasons to take the Under in Week 8.

First, the Giants allow the sixth-fewest passing yards per game. The Jets allow the second-fewest, and Wilson dominated them. Still, the Giants have an advantage this week, given they have tape on Wilson in a Steelers uniform and a lethal pass rush (which C Jackson Cowart breaks down in his Giants vs. Steelers prediction).

Second, the Giants’ run defense isn’t very good, and Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren should have a lot of success against a unit that allowed over 260 yards last week.

The total ranges from 197.5 to 201.5. Not only is bet365 one of two sportsbooks offering 201.5, but it’s also the only sportsbook at any total offering a price of -110 or better for the Under.

Wilson threw the ball 29 times last week. While with the Denver Broncos last season, he threw at least 29 passes in 10 of his 15 games. 

However, the Giants are allowing a league-worst 5.4 yards per carry. Teams have run for an average of 138.1 yards against them this season, while the pass defense has remained stout. The Giants are allowing just 28.6 pass attempts per game, and the Steelers are attempting the fewest passes per game in the league this season.
