It's a family reunion on Monday Night Football as John Harbaugh leads his Baltimore Ravens to SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif. to take on Jim Harbaugh's Los Angeles Chargers at 8:15 p.m. ET (ESPN, ABC).

  • The Ravens are one of just five teams with Super Bowl odds shorter than 10/1
  • Lamar Jackson is no longer the NFL MVP odds favorite while Justin Herbert continues to climb the oddsboard
  • This is the third time that Jim and John Harbaugh have coached against each other, with John's Ravens winning the previous two matchups

The Monday Night Football odds have Baltimore as a 2.5-point favorite, but our Ravens vs. Chargers prediction backs the team with a more consistent defense.

As part of our Week 12 NFL predictions, we also made our best Ravens vs. Chargers player propsRavens vs. Chargers MNF parlay, and anytime touchdown scorer predictions.

Ravens vs. Chargers betting splits: Monday Night Football

The Ravens opened as 3-point favorites across most of our best sportsbooks, and we've seen the line inch closer to the home underdogs ahead of kickoff tonight.

Baltimore is now just a 2.5-point favorite, though those odds are -120 with Los Angeles sitting at even money to cover. Despite the Ravens coming off a loss, they have 56% of the money backing them to cover.

The total has climbed as high as 51 after opening at 46.5 earlier in the week.

Best Ravens vs. Chargers picks

NFL picks based on the odds from our best NFL betting sites. Odds subject to change.

  • Against the spread pick: Chargers +2.5 () vs. Ravens ⭐⭐⭐
  • Player prop: Ladd McConkey Over 5.5 receptions (+116 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐

Ravens vs. Chargers against the spread prediction: Monday Night Football

Chargers to cover the spread: +2.5 (-104) ⭐⭐⭐

Best odds: -104 via FanDuel | Implied probability: 50.98%

Since Week 7, Justin Herbert is fantasy football’s sixth-best quarterback, averaging over 274 passing yards per game with a 7-0 TD-INT ratio.

Herbert faces a Ravens defense that ranks 30th in fantasy points-allowed quarterbacks. Baltimore has been torched for 18 touchdown passes since Week 5 and has allowed 300 or more passing yards in four of its last six games.

Herbert has averaged 22 fantasy points per game over his last four games and has multiple touchdown passes in three of those four.

L.A.’s defense will rise up

No team has been able to slow down Lamar Jackson on Monday Night Football, as he has a 20-0 TD-INT ratio and an 86 total QBR in eight career MNF games. However, I expect the Chargers defense to be up to the task, especially since the Pittsburgh Steelers laid the blueprint on how to contain him last week.

In the 18-16 Week 11 loss to Pittsburgh, Jackson completed just 49% of his passes, his worst since Week 7 in 2021. The Steelers also did a masterful job keeping Jackson in the pocket, limiting him to just four rushing attempts, his second-fewest of the season.

The Chargers lead the NFL in scoring defense (14.5 points per game allowed), which is the lowest scoring average after 11 weeks since the 2019 Patriots, per ESPN. They also made history as the first team in the Super Bowl era to begin a season with 20 or fewer points allowed in their first nine games.

Building an early lead

The Chargers have cashed a "first to 15 points" prop in six consecutive games and have had halftime leads of 18, 6, 17, and four points in its last four games.

Meanwhile, Lamar Jackson is just 2-4 ATS in the first half this season. So, the fact that John Harbaugh is 2-0 against his brother and that Jackson is 19-5 SU in prime time games in his career is offset by the Chargers having covered in three consecutive home games.

Given that all of our best sports betting sites have the Ravens -2.5 juiced to -115 or higher, Chargers backers should wait and see if the line ever gets to +3. Even if it doesn't, I'm backing the line of +2.5 with three stars of confidence, and a winning $10 wager would pay a $9.62 profit.

Ladd McConkey Over 5.5 receptions (+116) ⭐⭐⭐

This may seem like a curious play considering Ladd McConkey is listed as questionable on the latest injury report and has gone Over this projected total twice in 10 games this season. However, I expect he will be a full go on Monday, and both of his instances with six or more receptions have come in the last four weeks.

The Ravens cannot key in on McConkey like most teams can do on a top receiver, as he and teammate Quentin Johnston both rank in the top 20 in fantasy points per game among wide receivers in the last four weeks.

McConkey hauled in six of a team-high nine targets after tying for the team lead with a 32% first-read rate last week. He faces a Ravens secondary that has allowed the most fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers.

With this game having the highest projected total (O/U 51) of any game on the Week 12 slate, a shootout bodes well for McConkey’s chances of lighting up the stat sheet.
