The Los Angeles Chargers are slight home underdogs against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 12. 

Despite boasting a marginally better record, the Chargers are underdogs of between two and three points. When looking at the best Ravens vs. Chargers early picks and odds, should Baltimore really be road favorites ahead of Monday night’s 8:15 p.m. ET (ESPN/ABC) game from SoFi Stadium?

The Ravens' worst-ranked pass defense allowed just 181 yards in Week 11, and yet Baltimore lost. Meanwhile, the Chargers' top-ranked scoring defense gave up a season-high 27 points, and they still won. What should we expect in Week 12?

Baltimore enters Week 12 sitting third in the Super Bowl odds, and its quarterback Lamar Jackson is among the leading contenders in the NFL MVP odds.

The Chargers and Ravens were exposed in some ways last week. The Pittsburgh Steelers held the Ravens to just 16 points, and the Cincinnati Bengals scored 27 points against the Chargers.

While the Ravens’ defense was phenomenal at forcing field goals, the Chargers produced the more impressive Week 11 performance, as they came away with a win after responding to Cincinnati's second-half surge.

I'm a little surprised to see the Ravens favored in this game, as it's a prime-time affair in Los Angeles, and the Chargers’ offense just looked excellent against the Bengals. This week’s contest should look very similar for the Chargers, as they face an offensive-minded team with a lackluster secondary.

The Ravens still field the league's worst pass defense that's allowing over 284 yards per game, and the Chargers still boast the NFL's top-scoring defense at just 14.5 points permitted per contest.

The Ravens just scored only 16 points against the league's second-best scoring defense, so it’s hard not to love the Chargers’ defense in this game. And even if that unit struggles, the offense proved itself last week.

Moneyline

  • Ravens best odds: | Implied probability: 56.52%
  • Chargers best odds: | Implied probability: 43.48%

The Ravens’ moneyline opened at -165, but it's since dropped at all or our best sportsbooks. BetMGM is offering -145, the worst price by far, as all of our other best NFL betting sites are posting -136 or better.

Prices have been moving in favor of the Chargers this morning. Caesars was featuring them at +135 around 8 a.m. ET, but that price dropped to +120 come 8:30 a.m. Look for the Chargers to continue to get support early in the week as bettors react to their performance on Sunday night.

Spread

  • Ravens best odds: -2 (-112) via DraftKings
  • Chargers best odds: +3 (-110) via Caesars

The 3-point spread at Caesars isn’t going to last long. So if you want to get in on the Chargers at a full field goal for a great price, do it fast. The spread opened at three points, and it's already dropped to 2.5 or two at all of our NFL prop betting sites except for Caesars.

Ravens backers can likely wait a bit, as the early wagers are coming in on the underdogs. If you’re on the Chargers, don’t expect this number to go back to three points. However, I’d happily take the Chargers as underdogs against the spread no matter where the number lands.

Over/Under

  • Over best odds: 47.5 (-110) via BetMGM
  • Under best odds: 48.5 (-110) via FanDuel

Two teams that play very different styles meet on Monday night, and the total is set at a very neutral 47.5 or 48.5.

It’s too early in the week to know which team the public thinks will dominate. With both teams coming off abnormal games, I’m guessing this number will stay relatively steady, as Chargers supporters back the Under and Ravens supporters take the Over.
