The 1-5 Jacksonville Jaguars take on the 1-5 New England Patriots at Wembley Stadium in London in Week 7 as the NFL's London games wrap up for the year.

The Patriots have lost five games in a row, including three by at least 17 points. Meanwhile, the Jaguars are coming off a 19-point loss to the Chicago Bears and look totally inept on the defensive side of the field. We'll look at how these recent trends impact the Patriots vs. Jaguars early picks and odds.

Our best sports betting apps have the Jaguars favored by nearly a touchdown in this game. Patriots’ rookie quarterback Drake Maye made his first NFL start last week, and while he finished with 243 yards and three touchdowns, he also threw two interceptions. Can he take advantage of the Jaguars’ defense?

The Jaguars’ defense is really bad.

They’re allowing 29.7 points and 276.7 passing yards per game this season, ranking 31st and 32nd in the league, respectively. Last week, Bears QB Caleb Williams threw for four touchdowns against them after throwing just five in his first five games.

Maye proved last week that he makes the Patriots’ offense better than they were under Jacoby Brissett. He’s still a relative unknown, but in such a favorable matchup, he should be able to lead his team to more than 20 points again. After all, five of the Jaguars’ opponents have scored at least 20 this season.

Meanwhile, the Patriots have allowed at least 23 points in four of their five losses this season. The Jaguars are averaging 24.3 points per game over their last three. They should hit that average again, as both teams score in the low to mid-20s.

Moneyline

  • Jaguars best odds: -238 via DraftKings | Implied probability: 70.41%
  • Patriots best odds: +205 via Caesars | Implied probability: 32.79%

The Jaguars opened at -210, and despite their 1-5 record, the number has grown to -250 at three of our sites with the best sportsbook promos. DraftKings is offering -238 for the Jaguars to win, so if you insist on playing them in a parlay or straight-up, that’s the place to play.

But really, the value is in taking the Patriots to win this game at +200 or better. They looked like a completely different offense last week, and with how bad the Jaguars’ defense has been, the price provides a lot of value.

Spread

  • Jaguars best odds: -5.5 (-110) via BetMGM
  • Patriots best odds: +5.5 (-108) via DraftKings

The spread hasn’t moved at all since opening at 5.5 earlier this week. At the moment, the Jaguars are seeing 54% of wagers backing them. That’s not enough to move this spread to six points. This spread is in no man's land, and there is no danger of it hitting any key numbers as the week progresses. Based on current betting trends, don’t expect this number ever to get lower than 5 or higher than 6.

Over/Under

  • Over best odds: 43 (-110) via BetMGM
  • Under best odds: 43 (-110) via BetMGM

The total opened at 43, and it has dropped to 42.5 at three of our best live betting sites. However, the price for the over at each of these sportsbooks is -115 rather than -110, so over 43 for -110 remains the best play of this game.

Only 55% of wagers back the Under, but oddsmakers are moving the total down anyway. If the Under continues to see support, this could hit 42 at every major sportsbook before kickoff. It would be surprising to see it drop any lower than that with so little support.
