Lions vs. Bears touchdown prediction

Jahmyr Gibbs 2+ touchdowns (+175) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Best odds: +175 via BetMGM | Implied probability: 36.36%

There is no question who will get the goal line carries this week with Montgomery sidelined. Gibbs is coming off a two-touchdown performance against the Buffalo Bills, and he's now scored 14 touchdowns this season. He has scored at least one touchdown in four of his last five.

The only time he failed to find the end zone recently was against the Bears.

But the Lions were just two-of-five in the red zone in that game as they abandoned the run and looked to throw. I believe they'll keep it simple this week as they look to notch their 13th win. After all, the Bears allow 1.2 rushing touchdowns per game, and they’ve given up five rushing touchdowns in their last two.

The first time these two teams met, Williams threw for 256 yards. However, he had less than 40 passing yards at halftime and did almost all of his damage in the second half with his team trailing by multiple scores.

The Lions will be without Carlton Davis III in this game, but they were also without him in the first meeting. As long as the visitors can avoid in-game injuries, they should be able to keep Williams in check. After all, most of his success in the first meeting came after the Lions suffered injuries.

Williams has thrown for fewer than 200 yards in his last two games, despite playing the fourth-worst passing defense in football last week. 212.5 isn’t the highest number available right now for his yardage total, but bet365 offers the best price for the Under, so I’ll wager there.

Tim Patrick Over 2.5 receptions (-110) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Tim Patrick has caught at least three passes in four of his last five games, and in the one game where failed to hit that number, he caught two balls for 48 yards.

Last week, Patrick was targeted a season-high eight times, and in the week prior, he caught six of his seven targets for two touchdowns.

The Bears only allow 19.1 completions per game, but they’re allowing 21.7 over their last three. Patrick will continue to do what he’s been doing for over a month with Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams drawing attention elsewhere.
