First place in the NFC West is at stake as the San Francisco 49ers hit the road to meet the Seattle Seahawks to start Week 6 in the NFL.

Two struggling rivals take the stage Thursday night looking to get their season back on track, with the 49ers favored in the Thursday Night Football odds. Our first touchdown scorer predictions for Thursday Night Football target both an offensive mainstay and a long shot with some upside.

The San Francisco 49ers have lost three of their last four games this year, with two coming at the hands of divisional rivals. They can't afford to lose to yet another one this week.

As for the Seattle Seahawks, they jumped out of the blocks with three straight wins. They've been cooling off since while dropping their last two contests. Despite the losing streak, the Hawks hold the top spot in the NFC West and could strengthen that lead with a Thursday night win.

We dive further into the touchdown market with our anytime touchdown scorer predictions.

Kittle has reached the end zone in each of his last three outings. He was the first offensive player to cross the goal line for San Francisco in his last two games.

Niners quarterback Brock Purdy has thrown for six touchdowns this season, and Kittle has been on the other end for half. The star tight end leads all San Francisco pass-catchers while earning 27% of his team’s red zone targets.

The Seahawks have been stingy against tight ends this year while allowing an average of just 5.6 receptions and 57.2 yards per game to the position. However, Kittle has enjoyed success against his rivals, racking up five touchdown receptions in his last four games when facing Seattle.

As frustrating as it has been for Purdy and the 49ers' offense without Christian McCaffrey, Kittle has remained a constant. I expect San Francisco to lean heavily on him early this week to get its Super Bowl odds hopes back on track.

If Kittle does record the game's first touchdown, Mike Spector thinks it'll be the only TD toss from Purdy in his 49ers vs. Seahawks prediction. Meanwhile, Phil Wood is eyeing another 49ers pass-catcher to score in his 49ers vs. Seahawks TNF prop bets.

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Connor Heyward cashed a +10000 first touchdown ticket on FanDuel this past week during Sunday Night Football. I’m hoping for another lighting strike this week for AJ Barner and the Seahawks.

The tight end position has produced only one of Seattle’s 14 touchdowns this season. Barner secured one on a 9-yard score against the Detroit Lions two weeks ago.

Now the Seahawks are facing a 49ers defense that's allowed a tight end to cross the goal line in each of their last two games. Both times it was a backup, too.

Despite the 49ers' 2-3 record, PFF still grades San Francisco's unit as the sixth-best overall defense (73.6). The group has allowed only four rushing touchdowns all season, and it hasn't permitted a wide receiver to cross the goal line since Week 2 against the Minnesota Vikings.

A $10 bet on this can help pay some bills, bringing back $500 in profit as part of your NFL Week 6 predictions.
