Don't look now, but the Denver Broncos are continually creeping up the Super Bowl odds leaderboard after winning two straight and four of the previous six. 

The Monday Night Football odds have Denver as a 6 or 6.5-point favorite with the O/U ranging between 41.5 and 42 points. Kickoff from Empower Field at Mile High is set for 8:15 p.m. ET on ESPN.

The Over/Under has dropped ever so slightly, moving from a high of 42.5 points to 42 hours before kickoff. The Browns opened as 5.5-point underdogs at bet365 but have since moved to 6-point dogs. The spread ranges from +6 to +6.5 at our best sports betting apps, and Nix is 5-0 ATS as a favorite.

There is no denying that Bo Nix is on an impressive streak, as he has 20 total touchdowns and two interceptions in his last 10 games. 

In addition, Nix has five games with multiple passing touchdowns and zero turnovers, which are tied for the second-most by a rookie in the Super Bowl era (since 1966), and only one behind Justin Herbert’s record of six in 2020. 

Denver is as high as a 6-point favorite in large part because of Nix’s command of the offense, especially since his 69 total QBR since Week 8 ranks eighth. 

But Nix was seen icing his back late in last week’s win, and the injury forced him to be a limited practice participant mid-week.

Jim Schwartz’s success against rookies

Browns defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz is 18-7-1 against rookie quarterbacks as a coordinator or head coach. In addition, the Browns defense is fifth in the league in dropbacks that end in sacks (8.8%), per ESPN Research.

Fading Nix to make history

Nix has won and covered the spread in all five of his starts as a favorite. 

Should he win and cover in this Monday Night Football matchup, he would become the first quarterback in the Super Bowl era to start his career 6-0 both SU and ATS as a favorite, with all of those starts coming within his rookie year.

Meanwhile, the Browns have the benefit of extended rest having played last Thursday night. In the last 37 such instances where a team played on a Thursday and had the extended rest to Monday in their next matchup, they covered the spread 61.8% of the time.

Vele’s production has increased dramatically with Nix getting more comfortable within the offense.

Vele was running less than half the team’s routes in Weeks 8 and 9, but has a route percentage of 69% or higher in each of the last three weeks. 

Since Week 8, his target share has increased each of the last five weeks (from 8% to 25%) and his ADOT has increased in each of the previous three games. 

This is a four-star play, as Vele has seen 33% of the team’s air yards in back-to-back weeks, and is a great under-the-radar play with the Browns likely focusing most of their defensive attention on Courtland Sutton.
