Brock Purdy will line up against the Seattle Seahawks tonight at 8:15 p.m. ET for the fourth time since his rookie season, with the San Francisco 49ers signal-caller looking to build on his 368-yard passing outburst the last time he faced them. 

  • Purdy is 3-0 against the Seahawks, averaging 265 passing yards, 19 completions and 28 attempts per contest
  • So far this season, he's averaging 275 passing yards, 20.6 completions, and 31.4 attempts

Brock Purdy touchdown pick: Over 1.5 TD passes (-118) ⭐⭐⭐

While it's not a must-win situation, the 49ers are as close to that scenario as you can get so early in the season. Tonight's trip to Seattle represents an ideal opportunity for Purdy to step up and show why he's one of the most reliable quarterbacks in the league.

While he has hit the Over on this prop just once in five games, tossing three touchdowns against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 3, the Seahawks have allowed three passing touchdowns in the last two games. Plus, he deserved a lot better in the opener against the New York Jets, with a rusty Deebo Samuel dropping a dime in the end zone. 

Seattle's safety Julian Love is questionable with a hamstring injury, while cornerback Riq Woolen has been ruled out. If Love cannot play, Seattle will be forced to start Coby Bryant, who played on just 147 snaps last season and 40 so far in 2024.  

Purdy had 31 touchdown passes in 16 contests last season but had Christian McCaffrey at his disposal. Even without McCaffrey, Purdy has enough attacking weapons to expose a depleted Seahawks secondary.

Brock Purdy Over 250.5 passing yards (-110) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Seahawks have conceded 251 or more passing yards just once this season. They were exposed for 273 against a perfect Jared Goff, who completed all 18 pass attempts. While the Seahawks' pass defense looks good at a cursory glance, its walls disintegrate when you analyze the level of competition. 

Seattle has played the New York Giants (16th-ranked pass offense), Denver Broncos (29th), New England Patriots (27th), and the Skylar Thompson-led Miami Dolphins (31st). 

Purdy has hit the Over on this prop three times while coming close last week (244) against the Arizona Cardinals. Had he not thrown a costly pick in the final minute, he would have gone Over.

With Seattle's inflated pass defense stats and injury troubles, including the unavailable Byron Murphy II, Purdy should be able to hit the Over for the fourth time in the last five games.

Purdy has hit this Over in three of five contests, but I'm assuming the 49ers won't be chasing this contest and should be able to run concertedly throughout. 

He didn't attempted 32 passes in any of his three previous outings against the Seahawks, and I expect him to fall just below this number in Week 6. ;
