Same Game Parlay Predictions for Bills vs. Lions

Lions +9.5 (-110) ★★★

Does anyone else get the feeling we’ll see a competitive game Thursday afternoon in Detroit? The Lions have quietly won three straight matchups, showing they can thrive in various circumstances: at home, on the road, in a shootout or in a defensive struggle.

The Bills aren’t exactly at the top of their game right now. After starting the year with consecutive blowout wins, Buffalo won by a margin greater than Thursday’s point spread just twice in its last eight matchups. The Lions are 5-3 ATS as underdogs and 6-4 ATS overall this season. Favored Thanksgiving teams are 35-16 ATS since 2004, but I see an opportunity in the underdogs on Thursday with a hefty point spread and two teams trending in opposite directions.

While DraftKings and BetMGM list the contest with -110 odds on either side of the 9-point spread, FanDuel Sportsbook is a good place for Lions backers to place their wager, as the odds split of -118/-104 offers lesser juice on the Detroit side.

Singletary anytime touchdown scorer (-140) ★★★★

Though Bills running back James Cook recently ate into backfield mate Devin Singletary’s overall workload, the red-zone opportunity share still heavily favors Buffalo's incumbent starter. Singletary led all NFL backs with nine red-zone carries in Week 11, while Cook earned just one rushing attempt inside his opponent’s 20.

Singletary converted a touchdown in the win over the Cleveland Browns, just one week after scoring twice against the Minnesota Vikings. With the Bills hoping to limit hard contact on quarterback Josh Allen, he seems like less of a red-zone threat to vulture TDs in the run game lately. Allen scored on the ground in just one of his past six games.

Though the Lions were solid against the rushing attack in a Week 11 win over the New York Giants, Detroit’s 17 rushing touchdowns allowed to opponents are the NFL's second-most. DraftKings and FanDuel both list Singletary at -125 odds to score a TD, but the combined odds of the first two legs of the parlay actually favor DraftKings, +265 to +253.

Goff Over 249.5 passing yards (-105) ★★★

Even in games where Buffalo thoroughly dominates, we’ve seen the tendency for opposing quarterbacks to pile up passing yards. Though they've gone 4-2 in their past six games, the Bills allowed four passing performances of 300-plus yards in that span.

Lions QB Jared Goff has been the poster boy of inconsistency this season, but he’ll to have to move the ball through the air Thursday if he hopes to keep his Lions competitive. Buffalo ranks eighth in run defense, allowing just 106.6 rushing yards per game.

By contrast, Buffalo gave up 262 passing yards per game over its last three matchups, the fourth-worst rate in the NFL. FanDuel's total for Goff's passing yards is 245.5, bringing the combined odds of the FanDuel parlay to +474. We’re looking for a few extra yards from Goff to get him Over 249.5 at DraftKings.
