This is our Week 2 breakdown of the game between the Chicago Bears and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as we share our top Bears vs. Buccaneers predictions, using the latest NFL odds from the best NFL betting sites. Can the Bucs move to 2-0, or will the Bears rebound to even their record at 1-1?

The Week 1 outcomes for the Chicago Bears and Tampa Bay Buccaneers were both a bit surprising, and the two teams meet for a Week 2 tilt at Raymond James Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Chicago hits the highway following a home-field trouncing from the Green Bay Packers, while the 1-0 Buccaneers secured a 20-17 road upset over the Minnesota Vikings.

Here is our best prediction for the Bears vs. Buccaneers game, and be sure to check out our other NFL picks, including player props for Baker Mayfield and Justin Fields. (odds via our best NFL betting sites; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Bears vs. Buccaneers prediction

Justin Fields Over 0.5 interceptions (, , ) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Chicago quarterback Justin Fields disappointed the Bears fanbase last week with his 216-yard, one-touchdown, one-interception performance in a 38-20 loss to the Packers.

The disappointment stems from the belief that things would be different in 2023. Fields is expected to make the third-year leap in which he goes from project quarterback to near-finished product. Instead, he averaged just 5.8 yards per pass attempt, took four sacks, and finished with a 21.6 adjusted quarterback rating last Sunday.

Fields vowed to be better in Week 2 and to take more chances downfield.

"That's one thing I talked to (offensive coordinator) Luke (Getsy) and coach (Matt Eberflus) about. I felt like I was a little bit too conservative at times during the game," Fields . "Definitely with guys like (D.J. Moore and Chase Claypool) outside, if we do have one-on-one on the outside, potentially throwing it up and seeing what happens."

"Throwing it up and seeing what happens" should be an alarm for bettors to go find the best odds for a Fields interception. Fields threw 11 picks in his sophomore season and went just six games without throwing an interception.

Fields averaged 2.5 air yards per attempt in Week 1 and had two passes that traveled 20 yards or more. Despite all the screens and checkdowns, he still managed to throw an interception to the Packers.

This week, he'll be facing a Buccaneers defense that forced three turnovers of the Vikings and intercepted Kirk Cousins on the goal line. They also registered nine QB hits.

Fields plays behind a suspect offensive line and has yet to develop strong chemistry with Moore and Claypool. A more YOLO attitude may not have the desired results.
