The San Francisco 49ers will look to pick up their first road win of the season as they travel to take on the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday Night Football.

Both NFC West rivals are in trouble heading into their Week 6 matchup. Looking at the 49ers vs. Seahawks early picks and odds, bettors are confident in the 49ers pulling out the road victory. But are the Seahawks being undervalued at home?

The Seahawks started the season 3-0 thanks to a very easy schedule. Now they’ve dropped back-to-back games, and despite having a better record than the 49ers, they’re not a better team.

Seattle's defense has given up 809 yards in the last two games and is likely to get throttled by the 49ers’ offense this week.

San Francisco is coming off an ugly three-turnover home loss to the Cardinals, but it still likely would have won that game had kicker Jake Moody not been injured - leaving the Niners unable to extend a double-digit lead with field goals late.

The offense clearly misses Christian McCaffrey (Achilles), but his absence will barely be noticed this week.

Brandon Aiyuk, Deebo Samuel, and George Kittle should have a field day against this pass defense, and Jordan Mason is a great bet to go for over 100 yards. The Seahawks will score some points, but the 49ers’ defense can make enough stops to cover this spread and win on the road.

  • 49ers best odds: -160 via BetMGM | Implied probability: 61.54%
  • Seahawks best odds: +140 via DraftKings | Implied probability: 41.67%

Seattle is a really tough place to play, so there may be some temptation to take the Seahawks’ moneyline in this game. If you’re so inclined to make that play, wait.

The spread seems likely to climb to 3.5, and that means that the moneyline should increase for the Seahawks as well. The price ranges from +135 to +140 at each of our five best sports betting apps, but we could see a better price by kickoff.

Spread

  • 49ers best odds: -3 (-110) via bet365

Every major sportsbook has the spread at three points. Two sportsbooks have the price at -110, DraftKings has -115, and two sportsbooks have -120.

Right now, 53% of wagers back the 49ers to cover the spread. That’s not enough support to move this spread one way or the other. However, because of the Seahawks' ugly loss to the Giants at home, I expect this number to climb to 3.5 before long. It shouldn't move beyond that.

Over/Under

The Seahawks’ defense has been really bad over the last two weeks. They gave up 23 points to the Giants last week and 42 points to the Detroit Lions the week before. They’ve also allowed at least 20 points in four of their five games.

For as much as the 49ers have struggled to secure wins this season, the offense has put up points. Had Moody not gotten hurt, they likely would have scored at least 26 points for the third time this season. With all of this in mind, expect this total to increase before kickoff.
