The Cavaliers are 2.5-point favorites for tonight's tilt at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. ET (ESPN).

Best Thunder vs. Cavaliers prop predictions

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Under 5.5 assists ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Best odds: +110 via FanDuel | Implied probability: 47.62%

Sometimes, a line is so strange that you have to go against your basic instincts. This is one of those lines.

Gilgeous-Alexander has dished out at least six assists in six of his last seven games, and he's averaging 6.1 assists per contest on the season. And yet, his total is set at just 5.5 tonight.

A big reason for this is that the Cavaliers are one of the best teams in the NBA at preventing assists. They allow just 25.2 per game, and even though SGA just dished out six assists against a Boston Celtics team that allows even fewer assists per game, he also played 39 minutes in that contest.

He’s averaging 34.5 minutes per game, so expect fewer minutes tonight and for the Cavaliers to keep his passing under control, even if Gilgeous-Alexander does plenty of scoring.

Garland averages 2.9 made 3-pointers per game this season, but that’s the only reason to take his Over. He’s made fewer than three shots from beyond the arc in two of his last three games, and now he will have to take on one of the best 3-point defenses in the NBA.

The Thunder are holding opponents to a league-best 42.6% from beyond the arc. In their 105-92 win over the Celtics on Sunday, they held Boston to just 36.5% from deep. Garland has made more than three 3-pointers in just one of his last six games. I expect him to struggle tonight with a low ceiling in a brutal matchup.

Isaiah Hartenstein prop pick: Over 11.5 rebounds ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Best odds: +100 via BetMGM | Implied probability: 50.00%

Hartenstein is averaging 12.2 rebounds per game this season. He’ll be battling down low with Jarrett Allen tonight, but I give Hartenstein the advantage, as long as he plays his usual minutes. 

Hartenstein has pulled down at least 10 rebounds in seven consecutive games where he’s played at least 30 minutes. The problem is keeping him on the court, as Hartenstein has played fewer than 30 minutes in two of his last five games, recording nine boards both times.

With two days of rest between the last game and this one, expect Hartenstein to be on the floor for most of this game. And though this matchup isn’t great, Hartenstein has at least 12 rebounds in six of his last 11 and can get it done.
