The Lakers rank just 19th in the NBA in points allowed per game. But with the Mavericks’ leading scorer for tonight averaging just 14.2 points per game, will they be able to take advantage of the Lakers' mediocre defense?

James averages 24.0 points per game this season, but he has been incredible over the past few weeks. He has scored at least 21 points in his last seven games, managing at least 30 in four contests.

This would be a five-star play if James wasn't coming off a 21-point game against the Houston Rockets. Though he shot 50% from the field and 57.1% from beyond the arc, I’m concerned that performance may have been the start of reverting back to normal. 

But James hasn’t scored fewer than 20 points since Dec. 19, and the Mavericks allow 112.3 points per game. This total is 23.5 at our best sports betting apps, but DraftKings is the only one offering a price of -110 or better.

Klay Thompson 4+ made 3-pointers ⭐⭐⭐⭐

With Doncic and Irving out, Thompson is the Maverick’s leading scorer. While he’s only averaging 14.2 points per game, he is averaging 3.1 made three-pointers per contest.

While the Lakers are allowing just 13.2 made 3-pointers per game, which ranks ninth in the league, Thompson is going to hit this Over through volume.

Thompson has made at least four threes in two of his last three games. He went 3-of-8 from beyond the arc last night against the Memphis Grizzlies and attempted at least eight shots from deep in four consecutive games.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see him attempt 10 threes as he did two games ago against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The price for Thompson to have more than 2.5 made 3-pointers is expensive at our best sportsbooks. The best price is -145 at DraftKings. Therefore, I recommend taking this alternative line, as the price is much better, and Thompson will be called upon more than he would be in a typical game.

Currently, the sites with the best sportsbook promos are split on where they have this total set. Some have the number set at 12.5, while others have it at 13.5.

While the safe number is Over 12.5, the price reflects that, so I’ll take a chance on one extra rebound.

Davis has pulled down at least 13 rebounds in four consecutive games, and you have to go all the way back to December 4 to find a game where he pulled down fewer than 10 rebounds while playing at least 30 minutes. 

Davis is averaging 11.8 boards per game, and he’s about to take on a team allowing 53.3 rebounds per game. That is the eighth-most allowed per game in the league.

Davis will dominate Dereck Lively II in this matchup and get close to the 19 rebounds he put up against the Atlanta Hawks on Jan. 3.
