The New York Mets picked up a crucial victory in Game 2 of the NLCS, taking advantage of the Los Angeles Dodgers' disastrous bullpen game to even the series at 1-1. Will they carry that momentum back home to the Big Apple?

Our Dodgers vs. Mets prediction looks at whether the World Series odds favorites on the NL side can bounce back from their Game 2 defeat at home with an actual starting pitcher on the mound (though even that's debatable with the way Walker Buehler has been pitching this year).

First pitch is expected to be thrown at 8:08 p.m. ET from Citi Field, with Luis Severino looking to shut down the dangerous Dodgers in front of what should be a raucous home crowd.

Shohei Ohtani has produced a first postseason to forget so far, slashing just .222/.344/.333 with only one home run.

However, he and Los Angeles' star-studded lineup can be held down for only so long. After scoring just three runs in Game 2, I foresee an offensive explosion on Wednesday.

I'm betting on the Dodgers to bounce back, both because I think they're the better team and because we're getting a good price.

The Dodgers were trading at around -150 on the moneyline ahead of Game 2.

Sure, they were at home, but it was also a bullpen game due to a lack of reliable starting pitchers. Now, that's not to say Buehler has been reliable this year, or even remotely close. But he's been here before and can give the Dodgers exactly what they need to earn the victory.

I'll gladly take these -110 odds with all that in mind, especially considering the Dodgers are trading at +175 to win the World Series versus the Mets at +400 (via BetMGM). That tells me our best sports betting sites still believe Los Angeles is the superior team.

Additionally, we've been seeing sharp movement to back a Dodgers win. 

Pinnacle, which features one of the most respected trading teams in the sports betting industry, opened with the Dodgers priced at -101. They've been bet to -110 as of 9:30 a.m. ET, and that number could continue to shorten.

Prediction: Walker Buehler Under 14.5 outs ⭐⭐⭐

My analysis

Though I think Buehler will provide the Dodgers with the boost they need to win Game 3, he won't survive five full innings.

Buehler's outs total is sitting at a key number for the Over, as he needs to only get through the fifth. That makes cashing the Under more difficult than if the number was set at 15.5 like Severino's is tonight. However, we're getting ridiculous value with these odds.

All of our other best sportsbooks are trading at +100 for Under 14.5 outs, and Pinnacle has moved to -106 after opening at +115. 

So, just how good are these odds? Well, you're getting an extra $2 in profit on a winning $10 bet at BetRivers compared to BetMGM or DraftKings. If you were to do that over five bets, you'd earn yourself an entire extra unit. I can't stress the importance of odds shopping enough.
