2024 U.S. Open Power Rankings: Ranking the Favorites for Your Golf Pools and Picks
Last Updated: June 12, 2024 6:53 AM EDT • 5 min 40 sec read.
Recurring favorite Scottie Scheffler is beginning to take some of the fun out of golf betting, but our U.S. Open power rankings are using the odds from our best golf betting sites to help with your major pools and DFS golf rosters this week.
American Scottie Scheffler, the No. 1 golfer in the (OWGR), has won five tournaments this calendar year - all of them since mid-March. Each of those victories came as a prohibitive betting favorite, even against the strongest fields in golf, and they've all come within his last eight events.
So, we're seeing him again with U.S. Open odds around +300 for the third major of 2024. Those odds imply a 25.00% win probability and would return a profit of just $30 on a winning $10 outright bet.
That said, we can still use the golf odds from our best sports betting sites to make our U.S. Open power rankings to help with golf pools and golf DFS roster creation.
2024 U.S. Open power rankings
Odds as of Monday at 8:10 p.m. ET.
10. Keegan Bradley
Bradley tied for fourth in the 2014 U.S. Open, the last time the major was held at Pinehurst No. 2 in Moore County, N.C. He's coming off a lackluster T-43 finish in last week's Memorial Tournament, but that was on the heels of a T-2 in the Charles Schwab Challenge two weeks before.
Bradley's gaining strokes in all key areas, showing improved accuracy off the tee, and ranks 21st on the PGA Tour this season in birdie-or-better percentage from our key distance of 200-plus yards.

9. Corey Conners
Conners is coming off a T-20 finish last week in which he ranked second in the field with 1.09 strokes gained: around-the-green per round at Jack Nicklaus' Muirfield Village Golf Club. Jack's Place is always tailored to be a tune-up for the U.S. Open conditions, so we like Conners' impressive short game performance out of the thick rough around the greens.
Best odds:
8. Hideki Matsuyama
Matsuyama was excellent with his iron play in a T-8 finish last week and he now looks for his second win this season following the Genesis Invitational in mid-February. The former Masters champion finished fourth in the U.S. Open in 2022, and he tied for 35th at Pinehurst in 2014 to show a modicum of experience at this venue.

7. Ludvig Aberg
Aberg's debut in a major - the 2024 Masters - resulted in a runner-up finish behind Scheffler. That followed an eighth-place finish in his debut in The Players Championship. Though he missed the cut in his first go-around the PGA Championship, that can be at least partially blamed on an injury that forced him to withdraw from the Wells Fargo Championship the week before.
The sixth-ranked golfer in the OWGR is coming off a T-5 finish last week to show the injury is behind him.
Best odds:
6. Brooks Koepka
Koepka, a two-time U.S. Open champ, is coming off a ninth-place finish in LIV Golf's Houston event last week. Though it was a wholly unimpressive finishing position in the 48-man field, he closed the tournament with a Sunday-best round of minus-7.
Koepka didn't ever flash his regular major form during the Masters (T-45) or PGA Championship (T-26), but we can't rightfully rank the five-time major champion any worse than this.
Best odds:
5. Xander Schauffele
Schauffele remains No. 2 in the OWGR following a T-8 finish last week in the Signature Event at Muirfield Village GC. However, he struggled with his irons and wedges for most of the week, and that's cause for concern with the move to the more difficult U.S. Open conditions.
He has six career top-10 finishes in seven appearances in this major championship, so we don't want to avoid him entirely, but he'll also be a popular pick as the most recent major champion.

4. Collin Morikawa
Morikawa finished second last week without a notable flaw in his game. That's been a common theme for him this season, and he's one of the most accurate drivers in the field across his last four events. The only cause for pause when thinking of rostering the two-time major winner is that he is without a victory since the 2023 Zozo Championship against a weakened October field.
There's plus-money available for a top-10 finish as a more intriguing play for Morikawa.
Best odds:
3. Rory McIlroy
Somewhat quietly, McIlroy leads the PGA Tour this season in birdie-or-better percentage from 200-plus yards. That goes nicely with his Tour rank of 17th in scrambling percentage and driving distance that ranks first among all PGA Tour golfers across his last 16 measured rounds.
The Northern Irishman tied for 23rd at Pinehurst No. 2 in 2014 and this could be a nice chance to get him at a discount after everyone was backing him to win the PGA Championship and the Masters.
Best odds:
Bonus bets will expire in 7 days. One new customer offer only. Additional terms and conditions apply.
2. Bryson DeChambeau
If he played enough rounds to qualify, DeChambeau is the only golfer who'd outrank McIlroy in driving distance. Though the first two majors of the calendar year are the only true test for the 2020 U.S. Open champ, he was the runner-up in the PGA Championship following a T-6 in the Masters.
He hasn't cracked the top 20 of the U.S. Open leaderboard since his victory but it's impossible to ignore his form in the biggest two tournaments of the year to date.
Best odds:
1. Scottie Scheffler
Popularity and short odds are the only two reasons to not bet on Scheffler or to roster him in pools.
That says pretty much all that one needs to know about the man who has made over $45 million in tournament winnings since the beginning of 2023.
