The Oklahoma Sooners take on the Navy Midshipmen in the Armed Forces Bowl on Friday.

I make the best Oklahoma vs. Navy player prop picks as the Sooners look to pull off a victory despite the transfer portal depleting the team. Almost every key player for the Midshipmen is playing, but they’re still 3-point underdogs in Friday’s noon ET game (ESPN) from Fort Worth, Texas.

Who will step up for the Sooners with major offensive weapons such as quarterback Jackson Arnold and running back Jovantae Barnes missing this contest? And how will the Midshipmen play against a thin defense?

Our college football bowl game opt-out tracker has you covered with the latest opt-out news and the impact on the college bowl game odds.

Most of the primary scorers for the Sooners are out for this game, so the best bet is to take a Midshipmen player to score. Rather than backing Horvath to score just one touchdown, I’m taking him to tally at least two, which he’s done four times this season.

The Sooners are missing at least 11 defensive players for this clash, and their defensive line and linebacking corps will be much thinner than during the season. Horvath and a Midshipmen rushing attack that averaged 249.0 yards per game this year will greatly benefit.

The Sooners produced one of the best run defenses in the nation. But they won’t be themselves on Friday with so many players out. You could consider taking Horvath to score just one touchdown, as he’s done in eight games this year.

However, the price for that prop is very steep. So for one of my college bowl game predictions this week I’ll take my chances on him scoring twice against a team that's a shell of what it was earlier this year.

Best Oklahoma vs. Navy prop picks

Michael Hawkins Jr. Over 35.5 rushing yards ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Best odds: -114 via FanDuel | Implied probability: 53.27%

Hawkins will start at quarterback on Friday, and he's logged some experience entering the game. He started for the Sooners against the Auburn Tigers and went 10-of-15 passing for 161 yards. While he has yet to throw for 200 yards in a game this year, Hawkins has been enjoying running success.

He ran 14 times for 69 yards against the Tigers. Hawkins managed just 27 yards later in the season against the Texas Longhorns, but he did run 20 times. In every game when he’s thrown at least 15 passes Hawkins has also run 12-plus times.

The Midshipmen allowed 160.2 rushing yards per game this season, which ranked 80th in the nation. They also give up 4.3 yards per attempt. Hawkins should be able to crush this total if he runs at least 12 times again.

Eli Heidenreich Over 23.5 rushing yards ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Best odds: -114 via FanDuel | Implied probability: 53.27%

It’s been an inconsistent campaign for Heidenreich. He ran for over 80 yards three times, but Heidenreich also logged fewer than 10 yards in five games. However, he did go over 23.5 rushing yards in six of his 12 contests.

Heidenreich doesn’t need many carries to hit this total. He registered 41-plus yards in five of six games when finishing with at least six carries. There should be plenty of room for him to maneuver and hit this very low number against an opt-out decimated defense.
