The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets host the 12th-ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish in Week 8 of the college football season.

Without knowing the status of Georgia Tech quarterback Haynes King, making the best Notre Dame vs. Georgia Tech prediction becomes more challenging.

King is a game-time decision; without him, the Yellow Jackets have no chance. However, if he does play, Georgia Tech could win this game.

The spread opened at 8.5 and has since grown to between 9.5 and 10.5 at our , despite 60% of wagers on the Yellow Jackets to cover. Does this unusual line movement mean that oddsmakers expect King not to play?

The below picks are part of our College Football Week 8 predictions

Irish Cover Amid Injury Questions

If King plays, the Yellow Jackets can pull the upset.

He’s thrown for 1,568 yards and eight touchdowns, and he hasn't tossed an interception since Week 1 against Georgia State. But, despite the Yellow Jackets winning their last two games, King didn't throw for more than 167 yards in either contest.

The Fighting Irish have the fifth-best passing defense in the nation, allowing just 148.7 yards per game. Therefore, even though King has multiple huge performances to his name this season, there’s no guarantee he’d be effective even if he does play.

The Fighting Irish have won three of their last four games by at least 25 points. They held their opponents to fewer than 10 points in all three of those wins.

While it's unlikely they'll have that level of defensive success if King is on the field, as the Yellow Jackets are averaging 28.5 points per game, the Fighting Irish are holding opponents to just 11.7 points per contest.

This is a big number for what could be a very low-scoring game, but I lean Notre Dame because of King’s health issues. The spread is all over the place, so keep an eye on the line as game time approaches. If King is out, this number will jump up to two touchdowns.

A $10 winning bet pays an $8.70 profit.

Our NEW college football player prop odds tool can help you find the best odds on any market across legal sportsbooks in your area!

Jeremiah Love Under 65.5 rushing yards (-114) ⭐⭐⭐

Jeremiah Love hasn’t run for more than 60 yards in three consecutive games. These performances come despite the Fighting Irish winning each of those contests.

Last week against the Stanford Cardinal, Love only ran the ball six times and had fewer touches than Jadarian Price and Kedren Young.

The Yellow Jackets’ run defense isn’t great, but it still ranks 37th in the nation in rushing yards allowed per game. The best way to beat them is to throw the ball as they’re allowing 245.7 passing yards per game. Riley Leonard should have no problem doing just that while Love takes a backseat yet again.

The total is set at 61.5 at two of the three major sportsbooks offering this prop. The prices for the under range from -115 to -118, and FanDuel has the total set four yards higher and is offering the best price for the Under.

Either FanDuel knows something no one else does, or they’re simply an outlier for this matchup.
