College football will keep us entertained on the final day of 2024. While a College Football Playoff matchup between Penn State and Boise State will be the main event on New Year’s Eve, Tuesday’s slate features four other bowl games ahead of the main event:

  • Alabama vs. Michigan in the ReliaQuest Bowl (noon ET, ESPN)
  • Louisville vs. Washington in the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl (2 p.m. ET, CBS)
  • South Carolina vs. Illinois in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl (3 p.m. ET, ABC)
  • Baylor vs. LSU in the Kinder's Texas Bowl (3:30 p.m. ET, ESPN)

Boston had a solid sophomore campaign for Washington, finishing with 60 receptions for 807 yards and nine touchdowns. He averaged 67.25 yards per game, clearing this mark in half of his games.

Boston was tied for first on the team in targets (91) during the regular season, including a 13-target effort against USC in Week 10. I don’t think a 10-yard gap between Boston and Giles Jackson in the prop market should exist, so I’m happy to take the Over on the discounted line.

I project Boston to clear 60 yards on Tuesday.

Luke Altmyer Under 17.5 rushing yards (-114) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Altmyer is a threat with his legs, earning double-digit rushing attempts in six games. But that can be mitigated by a strong defensive front, as evidenced by his -23 rushing yards against Northwestern in the regular-season finale.

That doesn’t bode well for the Illinois quarterback's potential rushing output in the Citrus Bowl. South Carolina ranks No. 2 in the nation in pass rush grade (PFF), averaging 3.3 sacks per contest.

I’d be surprised if Altmyer does much as a runner against this front.

Staying in the Citrus Bowl, Sellers also likes to use his legs. The South Carolina signal-caller has recorded double-digit rushing attempts in 10 of his 11 games, scoring seven touchdowns this season.

During the home stretch of his freshman campaign, Sellers scored three touchdowns over the final two weeks. He finished with two touchdowns and 166 yards on 16 rushing attempts against Clemson in the finale.

DraftKings charges as much as -170 for this same ticket, indicating the +100 price is a solid deal for this prop.

Garrett Nussmeier Over 1.5 touchdown passes (-130) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

As my Baylor vs. LSU prediction explained, the market is underrating the Tigers in the Texas Bowl. Nussmeier has an argument to be the best player in this game after a solid first season as the LSU's starting signal-caller.

Nussmeier threw 26 touchdowns this year, including multiple scores in eight games. He started the season with six straight contests of tossing two-plus touchdown passes for the Tigers.

Thanks to a projection of 2.4 touchdown passes for Nussmeier, I like bet365’s value on this Over via the -130 price tag.
