College Football Playoff Quarterfinals Player Prop Bets: Best Odds & Picks For Round 2
Last Updated: December 31, 2024 10:12 AM EST • 3 min 47 sec read.
It’s time for the second round of the expanded College Football Playoff, and we're hoping the quarterfinals are better than the opening round, particularly with two games expected to be one-score contests.
Here's what's on the docket for the quarterfinals:
- Penn State (-11) vs. Boise State
- Texas (-12.5) vs. Arizona State
- Ohio State (-2.5) vs. Oregon
- Notre Dame vs. Georgia (-1.5)
Which players will shine as these eight teams vie for a spot in the semifinals? Here are my favorite college football player props for the CFP quarterfinals.

Kaytron Allen Over 52.5 rushing yards (-117) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

There is a 22-yard gap at our best sports betting sites between Penn State running backs Nicholas Singleton (75.5) and Kaytron Allen (53.5) for Tuesday’s matchup against Boise State. But this backfield is more evenly split, particularly in a game that features the Nittany Lions as double-digit favorites.
Allen has earned double-digit rushing attempts in three straight games, averaging 76 rushing yards per contest. He’s recorded one more carry than Singleton during that stretch.
In the opening round, Allen finished with 70 yards and two touchdowns. There is no reason for Penn State not to keep him involved, so I have a solid edge on this Over at Caesars.
Quinn Ewers Under 251.5 passing yards (-114) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Best odds: -114 via FanDuel | Implied probability: 53.27%
New customers only. Deposit min. $5. Place first bet of $5+ and win $250 in Bonus Bets (within 72 hours).
I’m fading Quinn Ewers’ passing prop for the second consecutive playoff matchup. The logic remains the same: it’s not in Texas’ best interest to throw the ball too often as a double-digit favorite against Arizona State.
Ewers has averaged 238.9 passing yards per game and 7.6 yards per attempt this season. He’s finished below this mark in four consecutive victories, averaging 196 yards through the air in those games.
With the Longhorns likely to lean on their ground game, I project Ewers to finish well below this mark. Caesars charges as much as -125 for this Under, so I’m grabbing the discount at FanDuel.
College football touchdown predictions for CFP quarterfinals
Jeremiah Smith anytime touchdown (-105) ⭐⭐⭐
Best odds: -105 via FanDuel | Implied probability: 51.22%
Ohio State receiver Jeremiah Smith said he’s a completely different player than the last time he faced Oregon. That’s a scary thought for the Ducks, considering Smith finished with nine receptions for 100 yards and a touchdown.
Smith scored two touchdowns in the Buckeyes’ shellacking of SEC’s Tennessee in the opening round of the CFP. He’s proved impossible to defend in his freshman campaign, scoring 12 touchdowns this season.
I like Smith’s odds of scoring at least once in a game that could feature plenty of points.
Nate Frazier anytime touchdown (+200) ⭐⭐⭐
Best odds: +200 via BetMGM | Implied probability: 33.33%
Bonus bets will expire in 7 days. One new customer offer only. Additional terms and conditions apply.
Down its QB1, Georgia will continue to lean on the RB tandem of Trevor Etienne and Nate Frazier against Notre Dame. The former has nine touchdowns on the year and a minus-odds anytime TD price, while the latter is +200 to score and has done so eight times this season.
It’s easy to see why I like the value for Frazier, who has double-digit rushing attempts in six of his past eight games. The only two exceptions over that span were both matchups against Texas.
Bettors are getting good value on Frazier's ability to find the end zone in a game that the best sports betting apps are underrating Georgia in.
