In the most entertaining bowl name of the season, Miami (OH) takes on Colorado State at Arizona Stadium in Tucson in the Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl, presented by Gin & Juice by Dre and Snoop at 4:30 p.m. ET (The CW Network).

The RedHawks’ defense is too much for the Rams

You’d never know it if you only looked at their 38-3 loss in the MAC Championship, but the RedHawks have one of the best defenses in the nation. They allowed just 18.9 points and 321.1 yards per game this season - both of those marks rank top-20 in the country.

Miami (OH) also held the Notre Dame Fighting Irish to just 28 points, an impressive feat considering the Irish are averaging 38.8 per game.

This will prove problematic for a Colorado State offense that managed just 23.8 points and 377.9 yards per game. Both of those marks rank in the bottom half of the nation. The Rams' offense will struggle even more in this bowl game without leading receiver Caleb Goodle. 

To cover, the RedHawks need to score points, something they’ve struggled to do this season. They rank 98th in points per game, and in their last three, they’re averaging just 17.0 per contest. But Colorado State is allowing 25 points per game, and the Rams have given up more than 30 twice this year.

If Miami (OH) can get into the 20s, its defense will do the rest and secure the cover.

Keyon Mozee ran for 1,073 yards this season, averaging 6.3 yards per touch. While he went for 40 yards or fewer in four of his first five games this season, he’s rushed for at least 100 in seven of his last 10.

This number is lower than it should be because he's coming off a poor showing in the MAC Championship. Mozee ran for just 28 yards in that game but had rushed for at least 91 in seven consecutive games before that performance. The Rams allow 159.4 rushing yards per game, which ranks 77th in the nation. Their last time out, they gave up 296 yards on the ground.
