The Nebraska Cornhuskers battle the Boston College Eagles, and both teams are dealing with many key players opting out or entering the transfer portal.

The Cornhuskers are the 4-point favorites for Saturday’s Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium (Noon ET, ABC).

While the Eagles will be without their starting quarterback, Thomas Castellanos, backup Grayson James has seen the field plenty this season. Meanwhile, the Cornhuskers will have Dylan Raiola under center.

Many will see Castellanos's absence as enough reason to bet against the Eagles. However, Castellanos hasn’t played since Nov. 9, allowing James to play three games to end the season.

He finished 2-1 with more than 230 yards in two of his three games, four touchdowns, and just one interception.

The Cornhuskers will have their starting quarterback, but his presence hasn’t been enough to prevent them from losing five of their last six. Raiola has thrown just three touchdowns and seven interceptions during that stretch.

Raiola should have a solid game on Saturday against a pass defense allowing 262.5 passing yards per game. However, the transfer portal has decimated the Cornhuskers.

Defensively, 16 players will miss Saturday’s game, which will be a massive problem against James and the rest of an Eagles offense averaging 26.8 points per game.

Currently, three of the four best sportsbooks offering this spread have it set at four points. FanDuel is offering the smallest spread, but the price of -104 for the Eagles to cover is the best. I'll take the better price because this spread is still on the right side of the key number.

Best odds: -114 via bet365 | Implied probability: 53.27%

Raiola started the season passing for at least 200 yards in four of his first five games. Since then, he’s topped 200 yards just twice in seven.

However, he has played some of the best defenses in the country during that span, and he only went under 190 yards in three of those seven contests.

While the offense will be missing some key players, Raiola still has Jahmal Banks, his leading receiver. Banks finished the year with 508 yards. And while the Eagles will have most of their defense intact, five players in the secondary will miss this game.

Because they were already allowing over 260 yards through the air per game, those losses could be all Raiola needs to clear 200 yards. Only two of our best college football betting sites offer this prop right now, and both have the same total, but bet365 is offering the better price.
