Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) operator PrizePicks has announced the launch of a new free-to-play fantasy game, “Streak,” offering a top prize of $1 million. Many sports betting sites will feature free-to-play games on occasion.
The game will debut in 13 jurisdictions, including Pennsylvania sports betting, New Jersey sports betting, and Ohio sports betting.
To play, sports fans must scroll through ten player cards and make a daily player projection to build a streak of winning picks. With 32 consecutive correct predictions, players are in with a chance of winning the top prize. Other payouts are available based on the length of the player’s winning streak.
“Our goal at PrizePicks is to lead the online gaming industry by offering innovative new game types that exceed the expectations of our members and give them new ways to play,” said PrizePicks CEO Mike Ybarra in the . “Streak adds to our growing list of contests and allows us to reach even more sports fans across the country.”
PrizePicks has said that Streak will integrate data from other games on the platform to display the most relevant and popular selections of the day.
Another new product
In January, PrizePicks launched “Arena,” a peer-to-peer fantasy sports game allowing customers to compete with one another’s lineup rather than playing against the house, like many previous games. The game was originally made available in West Virginia sports betting, Tennessee sports betting, Alabama, and Wyoming sports betting and later expanded into Florida sports betting, Arizona sports betting, Massachusetts sports betting, Oregon sports betting, and Alaska.
Under the new peer-to-peer format, the game could launch legally in Florida after the Florida Gaming Control Commission ordered the company to cease operations there in February.
“PrizePicks Arena is an exciting new twist on the PrizePicks experience that paves the way for future product innovations,” said Brian Huss, PrizePicks’ VP of Innovation, in January.
“Following the successful launch of Arena earlier this year, it’s exciting to introduce another new product to our members,” Huss said. “Streak undoubtedly enhances the sports viewing experience in a fun, engaging manner and we look forward to adding new features for our members to enjoy.”
As of April 2024, over two million lineups were built on Arena by over 100,000 players.
