Online lottery platform Lotto.com reached a milestone last week with an announcement that it is taking up shop in Arizona, marking its 10th state in the growing American market. The move comes just one month after Lotto.com entered the Nebraska market.
America’s first online lottery platform to provide digital lottery options such as traditional state lottery draws and scratch tickets, Lotto.com announced last Tuesday that it was going live in the Grand Canyon State effective immediately.
Arizona lotto aficionados can now purchase tickets on the platform for Powerball, Mega Millions, and its popular scratch ticket options.
“Today marks a great milestone for our team at Lotto.com, as we proudly launch the platform in our tenth state,” said Thomas Metzger, CEO of Lotto.com Inc. “The expansion not only highlights our brand’s continuous growth, but also reaffirms our dedication to revolutionizing the lottery industry across the nation.”
What Lotto.com brings to Arizona market
Lotto.com is just one of a host of companies in the exploding U.S. lottery courier market. It gives players the opportunity to order official state lottery tickets online via its accessible and straightforward app, while collecting a commission on customer deposits.
The online platform provides a secure and simple option for lottery customers and has been credited with providing a boost for state-lottery funded programs across the country.
Lotto.com boasts a customer base of over 1.9 million and has reportedly been responsible for about $85 million in contributions to state-funded lottery programs in a handful of participating states.
In Arizona, Lotto.com will make available opportunities to purchase tickets for all of the state’s popular lottery options, including Powerball and Mega Millions. Popular scratch ticket options will also be made available through the Lotto.com app.
Why Arizona?
Arizona looks to have been on the Lotto.com radar for some time. According to CEO Thomas Metzger, the size of the state's market, along with the programs funded by the state lottery revenue, helped make the decision easy to go live in Arizona.
“With a population of 7.5 million and annual lottery sales of over $1.5 billion, we certainly had to prioritize Arizona," Metzger said in a recent interview.
Lotto.com’s presence in the Grand Canyon State will help such state and lottery-funded programs such as education, health and human services, economics and business programs, and environmental initiatives. A good portion of the Arizona state lottery revenue also flows into a general fund.
Growing the Lotto.com presence
As mentioned, Lotto.com is now available in 10 different U.S. markets. Along with the company's most recent expansion into Arizona and Nebraska, the platform is available in Arkansas, Colorado, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oregon and Texas.
There are plans for further expansion in the future to keep Lotto.com on par with other major courier lottery providers in America. Jackpocket was recently purchased by DraftKings for $750 million and already operates in Arizona. Jackpot.com signed on last week as the official lottery courier for the Associated Press. Those two join theLotter as viable competition for Lotto.com in the American market.
Together, the lottery courier companies operating on American soil are estimated to have taken in $113.3 billion in sales in 2023.
