It was another record setting month for some of our best sports betting sites in the Hoosier State.

Indiana sports betting handle reached a record-breaking $614 million in November 2024, which was a 14.2% increase from the previous record of $538 million set just a month earlier. Following payouts, the Indiana Gaming Commission (IGC) reported nearly $69 million in taxable AGR.

Revenue was more than double the $31 million generated last November and increased by 95.1% compared to October’s $35 million. This comes as the Indianapolis Colts, the state’s beloved National Football League (NFL) team, had a tough November. The team lost three of its four games during the month, including against the Minnesota Vikings, Buffalo Bills, and Detroit Lions. If bettors backed the team at retail sites and on Indiana sports betting apps, this could explain the stronger month for the state’s sportsbooks’ hold.

The reveals a breakdown of handle by bet type. In November, parlay bets accounted for $202 million, or around a third of total wagers, followed by $182 million bet on football. November marks the third month of the 2024-25 NFL regular season, which will conclude on January 5.

Eleven operators drive month-on-month growth

Of the thirteen operators, eleven reported higher handles compared to October. Horseshoe Hammond’s retail Caesars Sportsbook location reported the largest month-on-month increase of 41%. Belterra Casino followed with a 25.2% growth, with the majority of its handle coming from its BetMGM online sportsbook. Horseshoe Indianapolis reported the third most significant growth percentage of 23.1%.

Blue Chip Casino also surpassed Ameristar Casino in terms of handle in November, collecting $215.0 million, up 19.6% month-on-month. Both Northern licensees, Blue Chip operates the state’s FanDuel Sportsbook, while DraftKings is partnered with Ameristar.

In such a competitive market, it's no surprise to see such a strong list of Indiana sportsbook promos.

Casinos also report positive results in November

The state has reported its November casino figures at the same time. Taxable revenue was up 8% year-on-year and 1.9% from October, at $186 million. Slot games collected over $169 million, while the 618 table games available across the state generated around $37 million. Indiana does not have real-money online casinos but has brick-and-mortar casinos.

The three leading venues in terms of AGR were Horseshoe Indianapolis, Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana, and Horseshoe Hammond.
