As we pass the halfway point of Responsible Gaming Education Month (RGEM) 2024, gambling giant FanDuel, one of our best sports betting sites, is reinforcing its commitment to the cause.

A recent has revealed that the company has expanded its partnership with , a non-profit organization that provides free financial counseling.

FanDuel has made a second $1 million donation to the company, which will go toward the Hope Inside program and expanding into Kentucky.

The program provides youth and adults free access to financial well-being coaches, who will offer free virtual and in-person financial health sessions, providing tools and knowledge to help individuals build a secure future. The companies also plan to promote the program across social media, radio, and digital out-of-home advertising.

Operation HOPE

“At Operation HOPE, we’re proud to partner with FanDuel to help educate individuals about responsible gaming, budgeting and savings,” said John Battista, VP Partner Success at Operation HOPE, as reported in the press release.

“FanDuel has been a committed partner supporting our efforts to empower families and communities across the U.S. with the tools they need to thrive in today’s economy.”

FanDuel partnered with Operation HOPE earlier this year, donating $1 million and expanding access to the Hope Inside program.

“FanDuel believes in the importance of financial literacy education and how expanding access can promote and empower responsible gaming,” added Alison Kutler, Vice President of Responsible Gaming and Community Impact at FanDuel.

“By extending the impact of our Operation HOPE partnership to Kentucky, we are able to help fund access to financial counseling across the state and reinforce our commitment to giving back to the communities in which we operate.”

Commitment continues

On top of offering excellent FanDuel promo codes, this isn’t the first we’ve heard from FanDuel during RGEM 2024. Earlier in the month, the company announced a partnership with former NBA player Randy Livingston and his wife, Anita Ondine Smith, to launch a responsible gambling program. Together, they created “Trusted Voices: Conversations About Betting” to educate young people about gambling and normalize conversations on the topic, which is typically considered taboo.

Several other gambling operators have commemorated the initiative, including BetMGM, which expanded its partnership with the American Gaming Association to promote responsible gaming messaging across nine NFL stadiums. Additionally, Hard Rock Bet published a release filled with advice on playing responsibly.

Kentucky sports betting

The announcement comes around a year after Kentucky sports betting was launched. The state’s retail and mobile sportsbooks began operations last September, around five months after Governor Andy Beshear passed House Bill 551.

Kentucky became the 34th state to legalize sports betting and the 25th with mobile sports betting.

Today, the Bluegrass State is home to eight Kentucky sports betting apps, including DraftKings, BetMGM, Caesars, Fanatics, bet365, ESPN BET, Circa Sports, and FanDuel.

FanDuel was one of the first six operators to launch in Kentucky on Sept. 28, 2023, the state's first day of legal sports betting. Under HB 551, Kentucky’s nine racetracks can partner with up to three online sports betting operators, meaning there is space for up to 27 online sportsbooks to launch in the state.
