Big news out of one of our best sports betting sites and top real-money online casinos.
Online sports betting and casino provider BetMGM has that it is expanding its Second Chance promotion to cover two new competitions: the NBA and NHL. The promo allows customers to earn their stake back in cash if their bet meets specific criteria.
BetMGM Chief Marketing Officer Casey Hurbis said, “The debut of Second Chance for football season was a huge success, so it’s a natural fit to extend the offer to our premier hockey and basketball products. Second Chance is just one more example of how BetMGM continues to deliver an elevated sports betting experience for our customers.”
BetMGM first launched the promotion for the NFL during the season. It allowed bettors to get their money back on first touchdown scorer bets if their prediction scored the second touchdown. The promo led to a 110% increase in first touchdown scorer bets year over year.
And you can take advantage of the promo without using our BetMGM bonus code: SBRBONUS.
The NBA Second Chance bet is available every Friday during the regular season and applies to any BetMGM player who places a straight bet on the player to score the game’s first field goal. A straight bet means the wager can’t be involved in a same-game parlay or parlay.
Meanwhile, the NHL second chance bet begins at BetMGM today and is available each Wednesday during the regular season. It works for wagers on the first goal scorer in the game. Both promos will pay out the player’s stake as cash.
BetMGM continues improving sportsbook
The expansion of the BetMGM Second Chance promotion to cover the NBA and NHL is just one of several changes BetMGM has made recently to improve its sports betting platform. The sportsbook launched its first sweepstakes competition for the NBA Cup. Players could enter by betting $10 or more on NBA Cup Original Bets between November 21 and 29.
The competition winner received a five-night stay at the MGM Grand Las Vegas, tickets to the semi-final and championship games, $2,500 in MGM Rewards points, and photo ops.
“With the Emirates NBA Cup championship returning to our backyard in Las Vegas, it is important for us to create an experience only possible through BetMGM,” Matt Prevost, Chief Revenue Officer of BetMGM said in a press release.
Additionally, BetMGM made its MGM Rewards program more convenient by creating a single account wallet for bettors that transfers across state borders. This followed an earlier upgrade from BetMGM that allowed Nevada bettors to access their BetMGM accounts in other states without re-registering.
BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt said on the launch of the new MGM Rewards feature:
“We are committed to streamlining the loyalty experience for our players so they can enjoy the rewards they earn wherever they are in the U.S. The BetMGM Rewards Program showcases our key differentiators -- omnichannel play, the iconic hospitality and MGM Resorts International’s entertainment, and partnerships including our alliance with Marriott Bonvoy. With every bet at the sportsbook and spin of the slot you are earning rewards that can be used online or in-person.”
