BetMGM Opens Original Bets Sweepstakes for NBA Cup

One of our best sports betting sites is super hyped about the NBA Cup, and gave us all a reason to join in that hype on Thursday. 

BetMGM launched its first-ever original bets sweepstakes as we move through the 2024 NBA Cup. From Nov. 21 until Nov. 29, bettors can wager $10 or more on the operator's NBA Cup Original Bets for a chance to win a massive grand prize. It's not the only NBA game the website is offering, but it's the only one with a grand prize this big.

One winner will receive a five-night stay at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. They'll be hooked up with tickets to the semifinal and championship games, and their trip will be filled with extra perks like on-court photo ops and $2,500 in BetMGM reward points. 

How to play 

You don't have to use one before signing up, but bettors can take advantage of our BetMGM bonus code: SBRBONUS.

From there, you'll need to opt-in to the sweepstakes on the homepage or the promotions page. Each wager of $10 or more on an NBA Cup Original Bet from there on grants a single entry into the sweepstakes, up to 25 entries per person. 

“With the Emirates NBA Cup championship returning to our backyard in Las Vegas, it is important for us to create an experience only possible through BetMGM,” Matt Prevost, Chief Revenue Officer of BetMGM said in a press release.

 “This promotion allows guests to explore NBA Original Bets and benefit from our unique connection to MGM Resorts destinations that are a short walk from T-Mobile Arena.”  

Unfortunately, this sweepstakes isn't open to those participating in the Nevada sports betting, New York sports betting, Ontario sports betting, or Puerto Rico sports betting markets.

Original Bets and other games

The NBA Cup Original Bets are made possible by Angstrom sports modeling. The company was acquired by Entain in 2023 to bolster the offerings of it's U.S. sportsbooks, including BetMGM. 

The sports modeling technology allows users to bet on markets like "Both teams to score in the first minute" and "3-pointers scored in the first three minutes." 

But Original Bets the sweepstakes aren't the only NBA game available to BetMGM customers. For the second year running, BetMGM is offering the Fast Break game. All you need to do to participate in that one is log in and "try to score a basket." Prizes range from parlay boosts to bonus bets to bonus spins at BetMGM's top of the line real-money online casino.
